Cut Flower Garden and Beautiful Coffee Table Books – Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Perfume – Pave Huggie Hoops – Woven Bamboo Tote – Glass Crystal Mugs – Candle Snuffer & Trimmer Bundle – Southern Lady Code – Cast Iron Skillet – Carved Wood Serving Tray
The Hostess gift guide was inspired by my mother-in-law: a woman who keeps a beautifully made home, always has a pantry stocked for a party, and loves to add a little extra pretty to everyday.
Timeless home finds
Everyone loves a coffee table book – they look gorgeous styled on a bookshelf or laid out on a coffee table tray. Floret Flower Cut Flower Garden and Beautiful by Mark D. Sikes are stunning and interesting to read. I love a coffee table book as a gift because people rarely buy them for themselves, so receiving a gorgeous coffee table book feels like a treat. Another home accessory that every hostess needs – a pretty candle snuffer set. I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t even realize candle snuffers were a thing until last year – but I feel so much fancier with one. And using a wick trimmer helps your candles to last longer and collect less soot in the was while they burn – kind of genius, right?
For a luxe morning coffee or tea upgrade (or in my MIL’s case, hot chocolate), snag these minimalist crystal glass mugs. I think someone who loves to entertain would enjoy offering these to her guests – so special and unique. Also, very instagram-able, (if you’re into that.) A set of four is under $20. This carved wood serving tray is so gorgeous and perfect for serving charcuterie. The slight lip keeps crackers and other goodies from falling off when transferring from the kitchen to where ever it’s being served. The large is a perfect size for a cheese platter and under $25 with Prime.
A cast iron skillet is a must-have for any cook. While this walks the thin line of ‘I’m getting you this because you’ll love it and I love you’ and ‘I’m getting you this so you’ll make me cornbread,’ it’s still definitely gift-worthy. This one comes pre-seasoned and has a silicone handle holder. Comes in lots of sizes – the 10.25″ is a good pick and is only $23.
Feminine accessories make a sweet gift for the hostess in your life. This pair of pave huggie hoop earrings is a perfect every day earring: delicate and effortless with the right amount of sparkle, and totally timeless. These are great quality and just $45! I’ve been seeing this woven bamboo tote all over the place this spring and I’m obsessed. This would be such a nice gift for a mom who loves to entertain, travel, or has lots of parties or weddings to attend. Pair it with a dress for a summer wedding or use it as a little beach bag. This one has over 700 5-star reviews on Amazon and comes in two sizes.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt is such a fresh, pretty scent for spring and summer. It’s a unique mineral scent with a little woodiness that anyone will love. Plus, it comes in the most gorgeous packaging that makes a really special gift.
I think the Amazon description of Southern Lady Code tells us all we need to know: “The bestselling author of American Housewife (“Dark, deadpan and truly inventive.” –The New York Times Book Review) is back with a fiercely funny collection of essays on marriage and manners, thank-you notes, ghosts, gunshots, gynecology, and the Calgon-scented, onion-dipped, monogrammed art of living as a Southern Lady.” I imagine this is what Nora Ephron would have written, if she baked casseroles and wore hot rollers. Get it for your mom (if she’s a cool mom) or your grandma (because grandmas are always cool).
